Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion Pays Tribute to Classic 2.55 Handbag in New York’s Central Park

The Chanel Mobile Art pavilion has landed. Appearing more like a futuristic space ship than a homage to the acclaimed designer’s handbags, the traveling exhibition will open in New York’s Central Park on Monday. The project is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Chanel’s iconic 2.55 handbag. 18 modern artists, including Yoko Ono, Blue Noses, Sylvia Fleury, and Lee Bul, have contributed works inspired by this classic quilted purse.
